Which squad-choice screen are you looking at?
Start with the question you are trying to answer. A recommendation asks which squad might suit you; an affiliation selection asks which one your protagonist will join. A Profile change concerns an affiliation you already have. The external promotional quiz takes place on a website. Keeping those contexts separate resolves several launch questions without asking you to restart your account.
In the in-game aptitude discussion, GetterSlayer asks about a test in Chapter 2 Map 5. In a different joining thread, Own_Examination_3499 has reached Chapter 4 Map 1 and worries that an earlier “not interested” answer skipped the choice. These are player questions, with replies reporting later selection; they are useful context for identifying your screen, not evidence that every earlier answer has no consequences.
How do you join or change your squad?
AppMedia’s Japanese release guide, updated October 31, 2026, reports:
- Main Scenario Chapter 4-2 opens the affiliation choice.
- To change it: Home → bottom-right menu → Profile → affiliation switch → select squad → confirm.
- Its writer switched Squad 1 → 2 → 1 without a wait or gem charge.
- Change affiliation, then use Archive to reread that squad’s scenes.
These are that writer’s release observations, not our gameplay test. Match the controls to your current client; the cited walkthrough uses Japanese labels.
The publisher Home preview identifies the menu area. It does not show the expanded Profile panel. If you are still before the joining point, follow the current Main Scenario objective; changing a story preference is not a reason to erase a developed save.
Which squad should you choose?
Choose by the characters and atmosphere you want to spend story time with. The producer interview places squad membership within the protagonist’s Soul Reaper experience. That is a better starting point for this decision than an unsupported ranking of squad strength.
Make a small shortlist: a captain or lieutenant you want to meet, an original academy character who interests you, or a squad identity that suits your protagonist. If those preferences conflict, choose the one that matters most for your first reading. A familiar favourite can be a reason to start somewhere; curiosity about a new character can be a reason to try another affiliation later.
The player discussion of story choices illustrates that trade-off. Players compare squad-specific scenes, and one describes changing their choice because their preferred captain and academy companion did not line up. Those are personal preferences, not a vote establishing a best squad. Avoid story spoilers in replies if you only need help finding the menu.
We have not established a squad-specific stat advantage. That uncertainty is not a guarantee that every affiliation has identical effects. For a difficult battle, inspect the actual characters and abilities in your three-slot team plan rather than assuming a story badge supplies the missing combat benefit.
How is the official web quiz different?
Hisagi’s official aptitude-test campaign is an external recommendation activity. Its instructions begin with Bandai Namco ID, then taking the test, sharing the result and returning to the page for results. That is separate from the in-game chapter question above.
The campaign’s later instructions name the same Bandai Namco ID email for the game’s data-transfer setup and tell participants to wait for the gift-distribution announcement before claiming through the Gift Box. Read the linked guidelines for eligibility and timing; an accessible quiz page alone does not establish that a gift can be claimed now. For the actual save-linking procedure and OS restrictions, use the account transfer guide.
A quiz result can help you explore a preference. You do not need to turn it into a claim about optimal damage, a compulsory battle lineup or an account reset. For the wider narrative setting, continue to the story guide; for avatar and weapon appearance, use character creation.
