What does a BLEACH Mirrors High Mortal Blow do?
The name identifies an Action Card category, not a universal effect shared by every character. The fan-transcribed battle help separates it from Arts 1, Arts 2, Skill and Chain Attack. A useful reading starts with the exact character variant and move name; a familiar animation or portrait is a weaker identifier.
The publisher’s introductions give concrete examples. Squad 13 Lieutenant Rukia has a Spiritual-category Mortal Blow with Freeze. Squad 6 Captain Byakuya has a Physical-category one with a 50% chance of Bleed. These are different status applications, not two names for a guaranteed stun.
An additional effect can also support the party. Shunshunrikka Orihime’s published move combines a Spiritual attack with a 15% reduction to damage received by all allies for 15 Counts. That is a defensive benefit; it should not be relabeled as healing. Separating the attack from its extra effect makes it easier to identify the job a move fills.
For a damage-category question, use Physical versus Spiritual damage. For the meaning of Freeze, Bleed or Stagger, continue to status effects. This guide explains how those fields fit a Mortal Blow rather than recreating every character’s full kit.
How should you read Mortal Blow cooldown reductions?

The key word in Yoruichi’s final Innate description is current. The page lists a three-Count reduction to the current Mortal Blow timer alongside a successful Vanishing Evasion condition. Her initial-stage description gives an Attack benefit without that timer line. Reading the final effect into a starting copy would skip a material source distinction.
Substitute Soul Reaper Ichigo’s final description instead lists a four-Count Mortal Blow cooldown reduction without the word current. This wording difference is a reason to keep the two records separate. It does not establish a repeated four-Count reset on every Arts 1 hit, nor a universal formula for combining all reductions.
Also distinguish the unit from the field. A duration attached to an Attack buff is not automatically the cooldown of the action. A timer named Switch belongs to switching; it is not another label for the finisher. The Switch cooldown guide covers that separate timer.
When checking a claimed reduction, record the named action, ability stage, qualifying event and displayed timer before and after it. A useful comparison changes one condition at a time. A single shorter animation or successful hit cannot by itself isolate which timer changed. No timer measurements or frame-count tests were performed for this guide.
Which Mortal Blows can the MC inherit?
The unofficial customization catalog, labelled BMH v1.0.4-01 when checked November 6, separates MC selections into Arts, Skill, Mortal Blow and Abilities. Its listed starting move and inherited choices are compared at the top of this page. Values describe those MC catalog records, not the cooldowns of every original character variant.
The comparison at the top keeps each acquisition route alongside its action. For a control choice, notice that Senbonzakura and Hyorinmaru list chance-based effects, whereas the Rukia record describes Freeze without that chance qualifier. Their different attack categories are another reason not to treat matching cooldowns as interchangeable results. These fields help you compare the required job; they do not measure success against a particular enemy.
A reward’s name and destination slot matter more than the donor’s fame. The same catalog places Rangiku’s Lieutenant’s Support under Skill and Aizen’s named passive under Abilities. Neither becomes a Mortal Blow simply because it came through a similar reward route. Read the actual reward before searching the wrong selection list.
The MC skills guide owns equipping and missing-reward checks, while the Bond guide covers raising the relationship track. Reaching the listed Bond level and clearing the named battle are separate checks; this page does not claim to have completed either on an account.
What should you check before comparing two Mortal Blows?
- Match the record. Note the character variant or MC action and its source version. Do not import a similarly named move from another BLEACH game.
- Separate the effect. Read Physical or Spiritual first, then any status chance, target or party benefit. A guaranteed status in one published example does not guarantee it for another.
- Identify the timer. Keep printed cooldown, current cooldown and team Switch cooldown in distinct fields. Verify the stage and trigger of any ability being applied.
- Choose the next task. Use the linked character page for its full kit, MC skills for the loadout, and Bond for acquisition progress. An item needed for MC Grade promotion answers a different question again.
Those checks provide a comparison without pretending that the largest printed number is always best. Resistance, the move’s available effect and the encounter can change the useful choice. There is no live-build damage ranking, summon recommendation or simulated battle result here.
The official introductions retain their development qualification. Fan-transcribed help and versioned catalog entries are labelled separately; later client text can require a correction. Reviewed November 6, 2026. See our editorial method or send a source correction with the exact move and version.
